Combining knightly exploits and (sometimes crude) comedy, Aiol is a chanson de geste that recounts the adventures of its eponymous hero, known for his naiveté and poverty. This is the first edition since the 19th century of the song’s only extent manuscript, a mixture of 11.000 Alexandrines and decasyllables.
