This anthology is a selection of texts about Paris first published between 1831 and 1834, written by relative beginners (Sue, Dumas…) as well as some of the greatest writers of the time (Hugo, Chateaubriand…) to save a well-known editor from bankruptcy. They paint a precise picture of the city and its literary life.
